A short break in the action as Ryan Jay DDS, the owner of this dental practice on the east side of Indianapolis, comes to greet the visitors who have come to pick up the donation of gloves. One thousand pair of rubber exam gloves all boxed and ready to go. Calling two members of his staff together for the picture they stopped their work long enough to smile for the camera. A large number of medical procedures will now be accomplished in Malawi by personnel who are protected by a pair of gloves, thanks to the staff at this dental Indiana facility.
It is another example of the way the appeal for exam and surgical gloves is accelerating. The need is intense, as every day medical personnel, police, and other first responders in Malawi must face life-threatening situations without the protection of a simple pair of rubber gloves.
Not only are medical people responding to the need; so are churches, civic groups, schools and individuals around the country.
